A Central Australian hunting boomerang. Carved from hard wood and exhibiting a beautifully fluted textured front surface while the reverse is carved smooth. Deep dark classic mulga patina, in perfect condition. Circa 1870′s. Unmounted.

A beautiful strand of Tasmanian Maireener shells. Strung on cotton, of beautiful golden yellow colour, with a fantastic natural lustre. These objects were made as traditional jewellery and for the tourist trade as souvenirs by Tasmanian Aboriginal people, primarily in the late 19th and early 20th Century. Formerly belonging in a private English Collection. Unmounted.

Western Australian Woomera – tc297

Western Australia, Australia

A perfect example of this form of woomera. Hardwood, in classic ovoid form, the peg held in place using animal gut binding set with spinifex resin, which is also used on the butt end for additional grip. Dark chocolate patina, in fine condition. Circa 1880′s. Unmounted.
